Have a wonderful holiday in the beautiful south of Poland. t doesn't matter whether you come to go sightseeing, walking the hills and mountains, or just to chill out and enjoy Polish food and drink - you will find lots of fantastic scenery, a different culture, and plenty of interesting experiences. Each season has something to offer. One of the mst colourful and beautiful times to visit this part of Poland is the autumn; the colours are just magnificent. Photographers will love this opportunity to get some some really great shots. Go into the mountains, into the woods or anywhere where there are broad-leaved trees and you'll find the most amazing colours. Stand still and you can actually hear the leaves falling from the trees and hitting the ground. Best times to visit for this are from the 3rd week of September to the 3rd week of October. A trip down the Dunajec Gorge on wooden rafts is a pleasant experience made doubly beautiful in the autumn. The Gorge will be in full colour and at its best. For those who prefer lazy hot days - come during the summer when the skies are blue. It can become very hot here, ideal for gentle strolls and sightseeing. There is an outdoor swimming pool in the town plus an aqua park in Zakopane. The winter offers skiing, snow boarding, ice skating (all in the town locally) plus the opportunity to try out the facilities in the larger ski resort of Zakopane , or indeed some of the other ski slopes and centres a short drive away. The house is cosy with full gas central heating plus a log fire in the log cabin style room. A jacuzzi bath will help to bubble those skiing aches away. - See skiing holiday Poland
I guess we should also mention Christmas and New Year - both widely celebrated in Poland. Christmas tends to be more family oriented, New Year is a public celebration with fireworks. There is a welcoming in of the New Year in the outdoor theatre in Rabka Zdroj where all can participate, also big organised celebrations in the old square in Cracow, plus a Christmas market. We recommend spring and autumn to hill walkers and ramblers. Not only is the temperature more comfortable for walking but both of these seasons offer beautiful countryside. In spring there are drifts of crocus growing wild in the mountain valleys, later plenty of apple blossom and fresh greenery. Autumn has a mature glowing splendour when the trees range from palest gold to deepest red and russet. You can of course come every season - and have a good time each visit. |
