Skiing at Maciejowa in Rabka Zdroj is an easy experience. There are at least 2 slopes for beginners and another for the more able.

It's never especially busy - so great for families or people learning to ski.

The only down side of these ski slopes are portaloos, otherwise, very inexpensive and enjoyable.

There are numerous other ski slopes and larger ski resorts within a 45 minute radius for a variety of skiing experiences. Car essential.

There's also an ice skating rink in the town for an alternative winter sport.

You can toboggan down the gentle slope in the field behind the house - great fun for all ages. You just need to step out of the back gate. There are around 7 sledges in the house for this purpose.

Learning to ski

Ski tuition is available at almost all the ski slopes and certainly at Maciejowa in Rabka. English speaking instructors on request. Tuition is either private or in groups, at about 50 zloty per hour (2007 rates) for individual tuition, less for groups.
