The River Raba flows through Rabka dividing the town, flowing past the market place, Rabkoland, the park and the main road past the station and shops. Not much more than a stream during the summer, there is a series of stepped weirs in the river that people should watch out for if they allow their children to paddle.

The walk along the riverbank is flat and gentle - a pleasant place to walk on a hot summer's day. It forms an informal recreation area.

Most rivers in this part of Poland freeze over during the winter creating the most beautiful ice sculptures.
