Quality Polish souvenirs to buy in KrakowMost people buy a souvenir or two when on holiday. Krakow, Poland offers some unique traditionally Polish souvenirs and one or two surprises. Poland is well known for its amber and silver jewellery and ornaments. Amber is also used to make Tiffany style lamps that infuse your room with a warm glow. Painting on glass is a very Polish craft and you will come across lots of examples of this. The paint is applied to the reverse side of the glass. Some of the best paintings of this type that we have seen can be purchased from an arts and crafts shop on the side of the Cloth Hall in the Old Market Square or Rynek Glowny. This shop also sells fabulous painted wooden carvings, they're fairly expensive at around £100 each but are real works of art rather than a knick knack. Ordinary inexpensive souvenirs can also be purchased in many shops and include painted glass candle holders, small wooden items, angels etc. One item of clothing produced in Poland never fails to impress and that's hats. Many of these hats hearken back to the 20s and 30s when cloche hats were all the rage, so if you're into stylish hats - Krakow is the place to go and buy one. |
