Hiking in Poland

Poland is wonderful for hiking; the land is generally open and unfenced crisscrossed by footpaths and the Poles are a nation of hikers.

You will find plenty of footpaths everywhere, signposted trails in the numerous national parks and wonderful scenery along the way.

Organising a hiking holiday in Poland

It's easy to organise a hiking holiday in southern Poland, the most important thing is a flight - book flights to Poland.

You may also wish to book accommodation to use as a base or rely on the numerous walking shelters that are mainly located on hilltops. These are incredibly cheap and offer basic accommodation (bring own sleeping bag) and a simple meal. Sometimes they don't even have electricity but you can walk along a chain of hills, say for example the Gorce hills around Rabka and conquer one summit after another by staying in these hostels overnight.

The Gorce are a range of foothills to the Tatra mountains, walking is through countryside and woodland - the views are stunning.

Take a look at a self-catering holiday let in Poland for weekly holidays and short breaks.
